        2-hour sleep makes you dull

Today, it dawn on me what sleepless nights can do to us.  My sisters and I had 2 hours or less than that sleep last night.  We concocted our own version of "chicken feet" for our food cart business.  We slept beside the coal-stove.  You see, we didn't bother to fix our bed.  We tried to sleep so that we will be strengthened for the next day work.

Sad to say, another story to tell, our store keeper/seller (tindero) didn't show up nor bother to inform us of his whereabouts.  His mobile phone cannot be reached.  But just the same, we wish him well.  We hope and pray all is well with him.

While in the office, I really cannot concentrate.  I have to walk around aimlessly, just to keep myself awake.  I went to the comfort room and close my eyes (mind you, while standing) to regain my consciousness when I get back to work on the computer.

Funny, early in the afternoon, between 2 to 3 pm, the time when, you really cannot help but submit to the natural call of your body to rest.  This is the siesta time for the oldies and youngsters, but sad to say, were forbidden for the working adults like us.

I was chatting with my sister, when I accidentally hit the sign out button.  When I signed in again, I confidently tick her name and the message goes like this:

Me: grabe, sobrang sleepy ko, ikaw?
Recipient: sobrang sleepy rin.. kailangan lang gumising.. hehe..

I was shocked to see that the Avatar of the one who answered my chat message belongs to a man.  Thank God, the one I sent a message is a close buddy.  It made us a way to update each other of recent happenings.

But it didn't end there, I buzz my sister and ask what took her too long away from her computer.  Here's our conversation:

Me: nakakahiya, nawawala ka kasi. nag type ako. "sobrang sleepy ko, ikaw?"
        Me: napadala ko sa iba
        katherine: hehehe
        katherine: ako sleepy din
katherine: naghuhugas nga ko plato kanina
katherine: nabagsak ko plato kasi napapapikit ako
        katherine: buti di nabasag

See?  What less sleep or sleep less night can do?

But take a look at these....how do you sleep and what does it say about you... (a friend sent this to my email inbox)

Covering from head to toe - you may appear real macho in public, but deep down inside you you are weak and shy.  You tend to keep load of secrets.  If you encounter any problem, you will rather keep it to yourself and agonize over it than ask for help.  No wonder you grimace in your sleep.

Back sleeper with arms crossed to support the head - You're highly intelligent and enthusiastic to learn.  Yet sometimes you're filled with cranky ideas which people find hard to follow.  You take good care of your family, but the problem is you hardly love anybody.  A little bit choosy, huh?

Back sleeper with legs crossed - is self-obsessed and finds difficulty in accepting changes....

However you sleep, a good night one is resting in the night reconciled with God and yourself....

        Pratunam, MBK, Dreamworld atbp.....

        March 10, 2007

Pratunam, MBK, Siam, Dreamworld atbp…Places I will remember here in Thailand.  Yes!  This post birthed while I’m away from my own beautiful land, Philippines.  For awhile, Dad let me experienced to become a child (again) through the Dreamworld of happiness.  Their very own version of Disneyland on this equally populated outside City of Bangkok.

Pratunam, siam and MBK…If you’re a shopaholic person, this will cure your addiction.  You will literally shop ’til your last penny drop. You just learn how to look for the real bargain and you will go home full in your both hands.  These places will remind you of Divisoria mall, 168 or Binondo’s chinatown. Oh by the way, we found friends in the persons of Somchai and Tia.  They’re both our driving companions.  Somchai of a taxi, who brought us to their Dreamworld and actually volunteering to bring us to Safari World, but we begged off not to, for lack of time.  We’re actually here not for pleasure but to work.  But Dad always has a surprise!!!!!  Tia, the one who drivesTuktuk (a combination of tricycle and PUJ), who drove us unexpectedly 3 times to Jewelry shops.  Haaay… these trips got me bored since I’m not really fond of jewelries, with all the sales people nudging you to buy.  But this is Tia’s way of showing us hospitality plus he gets free gas for every customer he delivered to these Jewelry stores doorsteps, whether there’s sales or not.  Ooh… I forgot to mention Henry, the Swiss expat our breakfast buddy at the hotel we stayed in.

What a trip to remember… and I will cherish it and excited to explore new land as we are set to fly back to Singapore tomorrow and have a stop over for two more days.  Will it be another wonderful place to move around? Are there also people waiting to touch our lives and vice versa?  Well, let’s wait and see ’til we get there…and I intend to ponder it here…gotta go…
